Sharing & Collaboration
Learn how to invite friends to join your ledger and collaborate on splits.
Settlr makes it easy to split bills with friends without forcing anyone to register or download an app.
Public Share View
Every ledger you create has a dedicated public share page.
- Tap the Share button in the top-right corner of your ledger page.
- Copy the share link (or use the native share drawer on mobile).
- Send the link to your friends via WhatsApp, Telegram, iMessage, or email.
Passcode Security
To prevent unauthorized access, all shared ledgers are protected by a 4-digit passcode.
- When your friends click the share link, they will be prompted to enter the ledger's passcode.
- Once entered, a secure cookie is stored in their browser, allowing them to view and edit splits.
Collaborative Actions
Friends who join via the share link can perform the following actions:
- View Balances: See who owes who and check total consumption.
- Verify Splits: Review which items have been assigned to them.
- Edit Splits: Tap on items to add or remove themselves from the splits.
- Add Expenses: Add new receipts or payments directly to the group ledger.
